Had a party at my house so I had to set up a white background, set up the 64" PLM V2 and shoot with the 5D and 85L....sort of my take on Tony Hoffer's excellent portrait project.
Here is the wife and the little lady of the house:

Very cool idea and well executed. My favorites are your wife/daughter, F-i-L and nephew shots.

On a couple of the shots (B-i-L and son/daughter) the angles of the faces is creating too much shadow/ratio issues. It might have also helped to have the light up a little higher - it looks like it was just about eye level on the adults.

nice idea . we did something similar at my friend's baby shower. we got everyone to put on props and take pics with the mom to be. then we printed out a picture of each person with the guest of honor, put it on a scrapbook style thank you card and gave it each person to take home. everyone loved it.

Thanks for the comments...

The thought process was this:

1) I wanted something fast and easy. Didn't want to take away from the party. So I set the light up, I wanted it to be single lite (minus the background light to blow out the white background) and I wanted to shoot each shot in like less than 30 secs. So I didn't want the light moved around.

2) I wanted high contrast black and white from the word go. Can't help it...I am a b&w whore...;)

3) I wanted detailed (hence the 85L and full frame) and I wanted contrast.

4) I wanted to have fun as well as my subjects.

With those goals in mind...I was very happy with the results!
