Hi everyone,

I am about to shell out way to much money for filters so its making me rather nervous. would like to run it by all of you!

This is basically for all landscape work and mostly in the mountains. The lenses it will go one the most will be a Tonika 11-16mm and a Tamron 17-50mm VC. And its a 7D camera.

For the filter hold portion...
- Lee basic Foundation Kit
- 77mm Wide angle adapter ring
- 72mm adapter ring
- 105mm accessory adapter ring

Now for the filters...
- 105mm Lee Circular Polarizer Filter
- .6 Hitech Soft Grad
- .9 Hitech Hard Grad
- 1.2 Hitech or Lee ND

My biggest "ugh" factor is the cost of the polarizer with ring. With shipping it comes out nearly $400 just for the two . Argyle (forum member here) has mentioned many times that the square 4x4" is accommodating enough. While this is VERY nice to save about $210. Is it worth that cost?

Any other opinions on my choices are appreciated. Most of the time this will be with mountain scapes so its usually a hard contrast between the darker shadows in front and the bright skies.

Thanks!

You can always buy the square cpl and rotate it 90 degrees tomachieve the polarizing effect.

Quite a few members use that mentod instead of maybe the huge costs of the circular cpl and adapter ring

Might be worthnlooking in to...there is a thad with pictures to show how it works...

I might just buy another adapter ring and mount a slim polarizer on it and leave it that way permananety.....i don't plan on any GNDs since alot of that can be done in PP and 90% of the time ill use the gnd with my big stopper so i can rotate the entire rig freely with out worrying

Ya thats the dilema that I wrote at the end of my post. I currently do it PP as well but would like to start being able to get it done in camera as well.

Change of plans, for the CPL, I plan to go with a sigma 105mm and accessory adapter for the foundation kit so I am not restricted with the square.

Just hope that it does cause any vignetting or any visible edges when using the Tokina @ 11mm on a crop body.

Try Uniquephoto.com
I believe you will see lower prices for the same filters/holders.

I bought mine there a few weeks ago.

just a few of my thoughts...
