Thank you! It's a challenge getting everything setup, tracking, freezing, aligning, monitoring, and finally processing. But man, it's worth it. Denny-------T1i (500D)

Feb 17, 2011 19:01 | #5 Jardmonkey looks like you caught alot of data in such short exposures . Overall it looks good but you really clipped the black point . You may want to restack and try again without clipping the BP . Also i see streaks between M42 and the Running Man neb . Can you tell me is this a cropped image or just reduced for posting ? You might want to check each individual image and see if those streaks are in each image and if they are in different position in each image . If so you may have caught some space debris . I understand there is usually alot that flies throught this area at times but is not identifiable of the source . I took similiar images back last year and sent them off to NASA for examining and they verified debris but could not say the source . So check out your original single images if you still have them and see what you got !

So Ron, now we have too much stuff in orbit and it's causing issues for ground based photos of the heavens?

Yep seen that picture drawing . As far as your last question is that all astro work has to put up with some objects at some time or other . For WF shots yes you can expect more but when you get more high powered then it slims the chances . I was observing M42 in the past with my 8" SCT and a 25mm Plossi and a 2x barlow which pretty much puts me in the center of the quad heart stars and a satellite passed throught in the EP . It was so bright it blinded me for a short time period . I estimated it to be 10 x the moons brightness .

If I flip through the unstacked frames, it looks like an animation of multiple objects flying through the area... Paul
