Try some noise reduction if you can. Lightroom is magical.

The image is a tad soft, could use some noise reduction as previously noted and maybe some white balance correction.

The focus appears to be on the defender.

DPP shows focus point on throat of offensive player. This was a quick edit for the newspaper so only DPP preset NR. I need to get Lightroom.....

I started with film so I dont find the prints to be too noisy, at least for 8 x 10 size print.

not an interesting image to me to be honest. it doesnt really convey anything or show what the subject will perform...kind of just a random shot really.
