What are the top 5 point and shoot (size/weight/cost does not matter but cannot be an SLR) cameras available currently?
I need to gift one to my sister and had got the SX-130IS. Looked pretty on paper with nice features for the price.
Downside is battery life is horrible (kinda knew that and got rechargeables), but now I find that recycle time is one of the worst I have seen. Almost renders the camera useless!
I have been a Canon POS fan for so long based on their products from a few years back (couple of which I own and are still going strong), that I kinda locked myself into Canon POSs and didn't really track latest developments across other brands. But it appears that the late(st) generation Canon POSs leave a lot to be desired (unless I got a lemon)
The gift is due soon and I need some recommendations fast.
* Optical Zoom and max apertures
* Top notch Low light performance
* Low noise/ISO options
* Recycle times
* Color and Tone balance
* Rugged body
I hope I'm not expecting way too much for a point and shoot form factor camera.
I appreciate any inputs I can get.
