Went and took a look at a used 28-75 yesterday and took these sample pictures before deciding on purchase. Please let me know if I'm just expecting or worrying too much.

These were shot in RAW and exported unprocessed to JPEG using LR3.

Image info:
1/320
f 2.8
ISO 100
75mm (28-75mm)

I focused on the A in AVE

This sign was across the street and it seems to be more in focused.

Don't know how my brother in law feels about having his picture posted so just going to post this cropped picture.

Although hard to tell from just 2 samples what the problem may be and I don't know how much the second shot is cropped but the first one looks like the problem I had when I bought mine (new). Look at the No Trucks sign. It's like there is a ghost double image. I sent it in to Tamron and it came back fixed.

Take a shot of a very large sign, fills 1/2 the frame, white against black or any other darker color and if you see a clear ghosting along one edge, then it's the problem I had.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Thanks for the quick response. Can you help explain alittle about the ghosting in sign? I can't seem to see it or maybe just don't know what to look for.

Seller is not the original owner so not sure how old lens is and how much Tamron would charge to fix problems, if any.
