I think it was in this forum that some time ago I came across a link to a worksheet that helped you figure out how much you needed to make in photography to make a living at it. Or, it may have been a worksheet to figure out exactly how much your photography is costing you (expenses and all). Can anyone help me with that?

I've gained a whole lot more! I'll give it a brush up in office and see if I can make it a bit more coherent.

One point from looking at the sheet is that you really need to break down the expenses into fixed and variable expenses.

Some costs you will only incur when you are actually doing a job (income tax), some are discretionary (entertainment) and others are fixed (rent) etc.

Your fixed costs basically boil down to "if I did no work this year what would I have to spend".

Variable costs are more "if I do this job what extra will it cost me".

Fixed costs go into your overhead calculation - variable costs do not.

That's funny...the iPhone refuses to print Microsoft!

My auto correct comes up with some pretty funny corrections!
