I recorded this video around 6 months ago when I first got my camera
used the kits lens(18-55mm)
now that I look at it I see areas of improvement

Let me know what you think

What type of head did you use for the panning shots? Looked like it was jumping quite a bit, you should probably upgrade to a fluid video head so you can create a nice smooth pan. They sell a super cheap one on Amazon that has good reviews.

Good first video overall.

damn that is one sexy car.

Also looks over exposed a bit, I'm far from pro though.

hopefully that was just an effect. i'm not a fan of it. i think less blown highlight look would be better. can't really see the car.

Way to over exposed, also the 18-55mm isn't really that good for video .. should try invest in either a 50-250mm or an 50mm 1.8 lens .

Need to lower that ISO! On the pans of the side of the car in the warehouse-y location. Open up the aperture a bit too, it'll help. On the outdoor scene with the car coming toward you, you needed to lower the ISO by probably a good stop a half or more.

If you're on the cheap and need a tip, take a rubber band and hang it on your tripod's arm. To pan, pull on the rubber band. It will help smooth out the inconsistencies of your hand's movement. :)

oh, needs more sounds of the car!

As mentioned, it's quite a bit over exposed. The tripod is something you can fix with a fluid head. Those are the basic two things that the video is lacking. Lower the ISO on the camera if it's not at 100 already, since there is plenty of light...

Thanks for the input
Now that I look back at it I see that it is is over exposed like most said. Since I made the video (6 months ago) i've learned more about exposure, and purchased a 50mm 1.8.

I'll be sure to try that rubber band trick also

great video for your first try thats for sure. Mine wasn't anything near as cool as yours for my first video.

What did you use to edit the video? Which software?
