Hi!

I've been messing around with a wordpress blog and seem to have messed something up.

here is the address: www.snapsbypoteat.com/playground (external link)

as you can see the flashfader is shifted to the left and the content is super wide! I only want the entire column to be as wide as the flashfader.

I imported content from my current blog which is why you see posts on it. It's not anywhere near close to being public yet. I've just been messing with different sized in the css editing and can't figure out what is causing this! My column width is set to 1000 and this is showing it a lot wider!

Help! :)

not sure what it is meant to look like, should there be a side bar down the right hand side?

I think you may be better off just installing a theme and customising that slightly, I would also use a javascript slider rather than that flash one (fade is just one transition on what is more commonly called a slider)

one example (there are hundreds of sliders out there, I don't necessarily mean use this one, it was just the first one I found to link, a lot of good themes will have one built in which may differ slightly) with some good demos (11 different transitions) http://nivo.dev7studios.com/demos/ (external link) the bottom one uses random ones so enough changes you should see them all

there are some very good ones on themeforest for ~$20 - $40

I'm no pro but give this a shot. If you look in your HTML of the page look for width="1000": Try changing that to like 2000.

<div id="slideshow"> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://snapsbypoteat.com/playground/wp-content/plugins/flashfader.swf" width="1000" height="400"><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><param name="movie" value="http://snapsbypoteat.com/playground/wp-content/plugins/flashfader.swf" /><param name="FlashVars" value="path2xml=http://snapsbypoteat.com/playground/wp-content/flashfader/images.xml" /><param name="quality" value="high" /></object> </div>

This may result in stretched images maybe not. See what it looks like and go from there. I am just starting my own blog on blogspot so I feel your pain. Best of luck to you.
