Trying out a new technique that I read from another thread on here. Tell me what you think. Only photoshopping done was levels, contrast, USM, and a run through Neat Image.

You certainly acheived good focus on the eye. :D
It looks like you tried to maintain an angle that kept you square, or on the same plane with the raised part of the coin, ie; the eye and nose, to take advantage of the razor thin DOF. Am I getting warm? ;)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

I tried several different angles, and this is the one I liked the most. I liked how being at a small angle from the coin face, that it added a lot of depth to the details. Focused on the eye because that is where most of the detail is, and the central point of focus of the picture.

I just used the reversed kit lens technique. I didn't know you could even do that until just yesterday. :) This site teaches me a lot.
