I have a 1000D and a 430EX II and all i need is a transceiver for the shoe on my camera right? The flash has the wireless built into it. What would you recommend?

Since you have a 1000D, you will need both a tranceiver (body) and a receiver (flash). I suggest going with a long E-TTL cord. awesome thank you sir. yeah i thought itd work because my buddy was using it with a 7d and didnt hook anything up to it. I figured if i had something on my camera to send the signal out id be ok. I guess ill get a cord then. thanks 60D Gripped, 1000d Gripped, 70-200L f4 USM, 50mm f1.8 "Nifty Fifty" (R.I.Pieces), Sigma 50mm Macro f2.8, Tokina 12-24 f4, 430EX II, Cactus V5's, PS CS5, Lightroom 3, BR RS7 Strap.

I guess ill get a cord then. thanks If you want to what your friend was doing with the 7D, you can get the Canon ST-E2 and have the same function. Of course, it really depends on what capabilities you want. If you just want the ability to have the flash fire, cheap radio triggers could do it. If you need communication between the flash and camera to get the right amount of flash (E-TTL), then it starts getting expensive (ST-E2, or E-TTL capable radio triggers) or cumbersome (long wires) Canon 5D IV | Canon 5D II | XSI (Infrared modified) | SL1 | 16-35mm L f/4.0 IS | 24-70mm L f/2.8 II | 40mm f/2.8 | 85mm f/1.8 | 70-200mm L f/4.0 IS | Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 | C/Y 28mm f/2.8 | Tamron 35mm f/1.8 VC | C/Y 50mm f/1.7 | Zeiss 100mm MP

Are you just wanting to relocate the flash off the hot shoe, in which case a flash bracket and the cable already mentioned is what's required. Or are you wanting to mount the flash on a stand, monopod etc. for more flexibility, in which case wireless would offer the most flexibility. Best, Bruce

You'll have to use manual settings on your 430ex.
