Which MonoPod to buy? 6 section Gitzo GM2561T or 4 section GM2541 ?

Has anyone here used either the 6 section Gitzo GM2561T or 4 section GM2541 Monopods ?

I like the compact size of the 6 section GM2561T but I am dubious as to how sturdy it would be with its pencil-thin final section... it is only 14-34 closed. The 4 section version is 20-3.4 closed but it seems like it would be more sturdy and even good enough to do duty as a walking stick..

I will be using mostly a 5D MII and a 24-105

Anyone here used either of these? Thoughts?

I use my GM2561T with my 7D and Sigma 150-500 OS and 70-200 F/2.8 L IS II and have no
problems or worries with it. Unless you're going to be picking up a 500 F/4 L IS or 600 F/4 L IS
I don't see any problems with the 2561T. Yes the Final Section is thin, but it's strong. So unless
you're going to use it as a pry bar, instead of a monopod, or it's not tall enough for you, I don't
think you have too much to worry about.

I have owned the GM2541 and found it to be a great monopod. Never seen or had the GM2561T, but I do have to comment that 6 sections would be a lot if youre trying to setup in a hurry. Plus, its a monopod, its already small and light. How much smaller and lighter do you really need one to be and why?

Only takes a couple seconds to set up the 2561. Unless you have some
type of mobility problem, I don't see much difference in setting up either
the 4 section or 6 section monopod. As for size, I like the 6 section as
it disapears nicely into the bottom of my camera bag, and I don't have
to worry about it while flying.

He could also look at the GM3551. It's half way in between.

I have the GM2541 and love it. Very light and sturdy. Collapsed length has not yet been a problem. That said, a few inches shorter would allow me to stow it inside a camera bag instead of on the outside.
