I'm very new when it comes to using OCF, and shooting people in general, so any tips etc would be a BIG help.. :D

Beano, they're really nice. I loved the colors of the images. The only thing here is that the man's forehead is kinda hot because of the flash, try to low down the power little bit, also try to buy an umbrella or little softbox, it'll come in handy. I bought 2 umbrellas and 2 stands from Amazon, here's the link http://www.amazon.com …d=1298244602&sr=8-6-spell (external link) .... They're are not the best, but they got the job done many many many times. Good luck :)

A small reflector could lighten the shadow side although I like some contrast, seems to add some mood.

Thanks all. ;)

Small softbox camera right is the only light source, although there is some light being reflected back from the sofa.

thanks for sharing the info. i think there are some highlights at the very edge, probably a 1/3 stop less would be good.

on a side note, you do remind me of Ethan Hawke from Lord of War

I bought it up a little in levels, but maybe a little too much.. The Histogram is NOT your friend!

BTW it's not a self portrait, he's a mate of mine. I'll pass on the Ethan Hawke comment hehe!
