I've been craving the 70-200 2.8 MK II and was hoping to see a price drop given the new rebates starting today. B&H had a price of $2382 pre rebate has now raised the pre-rebate price to $2499. Is this normal ?

Perhaps there's some reason they aren't allowed to pre-announce price increases and this lets them work around it. Jon

That was one if the best rebates that I can remember. α9 | 24/1.4 | 40/2.5 | 50/1.4 | 135/1.8 | 24-70/2.8 II | 70-200/2.8 II | Full Gear List

It was going for $2374 on Amazon on Friday and was hoping to get it at $2174. Unfortunately, according to canonpricewatch.com, Canon is having retailers remark the lens back at the official $2499 price point. This led to the current price of $2299 as seen on Amazon right now. Kind of sucky, but what can you do. -Mark

Yes, Canon instant rebates become a sale price. Bestbuy also tends to play the game of raising the price beforehand. gordon
