I have bought just about all of my gear from B&H so I certainly trust them. I am considering purchasing a used lens from them that is rated 8+. Has anyone purchased a used lens from them? Can you give me an idea what to expect from an 8+ used lens?

I got used lens some time ago, ranked 9 from them and couldn't tell if it's used or new.So from 8+ i'd expect pretty clean and nice lens :)

B&H are fine people and used is a good idea. They will take it back if you are not happy. I usually look at KEH first for used.

Somewhere on their website B&H describes their used equip. grading system. Poke around for it.

If anything, they are pretty conservative in their ratings. And they are flexible on their return policy, so there's not much risk. You can probably buy similar lens locally for less (perhaps off Craigslist), but you will not have any sort of warranty and will have no recourse if you have a problem. Buying from B&H, Adorama, KEH and similar, you generally get at least a 30 day warranty with used items, often more.

EF-S 10-22 doesn't come with hood with new one.

Wouldn't hesitate for a min to trade with B&H..
Bought a used 1Ds from them and wasn't happy with it 2 mos later (99's) but they didn't hesitate to make it right.
I am a stickler on customer service and B&H's rep is stellar in that regard.

90-day warranty from Adorama, which includes a 30-day returns period, in case you simply don't like it!

Indeed. If you find a good deal, don't hesitate with them. They've been very good to me over the years.

Not as many transactions (only 2), but KEH has performed beyond my expectations as well.

Happy shopping.
