I’m trying to look at Sigma’s site on my desktop. But I keep getting the mobile site.

Welcome to SigmaPhoto.com's Mobile Website. You have been directed here because we have detected that you are on a mobile device. If you would like to view the full site please visit:
www.sigmaphoto.com (external link)

When I click on that it stays on the mobile site.

http://m.sigmaphoto.com/ (external link)
When I remove the “m.” in the address; it puts it right back and stays on the mobile site.

I can switch users to my wife’s account and see the “full site” just fine.

How do I tell it I am not a mobile device?

Best to do is to clear your cache on your browser.

Yes, you can call me Tom

I’ve cleared everything. Even went through the hassle of clearing passwords.

Works Correctly for me in:

Firefox 4 Beta 11
Opera 11.01
Opera 11.10 alpha
Internet Explorer 9

-> So it's something on your site. Browser, OS? I'd guess the browser is sending the wrong identifier... fiddling with that by any chance?

Browser and OS could help too.

Obviously, they think you're a man on the move!

Sigma works fine for me, too.

You are probably using Opera. That happened to me with sites on Opera all the time so I had to stop using it.

I’m using IE8 on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I’m sure the site is okay; as I said I can shift to my wife’s user profile and it appears as it should. I haven’t changed browsers or even put in any add-ons or toolbars that I know of.

I’m just trying to find out how (and Why) IE thinks it is a mobile device so I can change the settings back. Well that, and so I can look for a new 10-20 lens on the Sigma site.

Maybe try resetting all settings then?

I've heard that IE8 (64bit) is having some glitches. This might contribute to the problem. Try either regular IE8 (my computer has both) and see if that fixes it. If not, try another browser.

They've obviously decided that you are a shifty sort of guy -- your wife may back this up:)!

Cookies shouldn't have an effect in this case.

-> The key part is how the browser identifies itself.... this isn't controlled via cookies.

On this note, I just googled it :)
