I am just starting out with my 7D and know that from the Immersion Seminar from Bruce Dorn I just went to, that the internal audio on the 7d isn't great.

Has anyone got any experience with adding an external mic? I am currently looking at the RØDE VideoMic Pro. But this is one of those "ask a lot of questions, before you buy" type things.

The 'Pro' version of the Rode is pretty new so I doubt there'll be too many who've tried it. Here's the only thread I've seen about it.
