This is upside down, and backwards. I had the pleasure of getting to take pictures of one of the famous Szabo brothers flying his RC helecoptor today. If you have not seen these guys fly, you may want to watch this;

Good shot. I shoot R/C on a regular basis and if you get to shoot heli's again try using 1/320 or lower for better rotor blur. The blades don't turn very fast so freezing them is unfortunately real easy to do.

R/C heli's & planes can do things the real thing can't; but the heli's in the right hands defy just about every rule of flight imaginable. They can hover inverted, fly straight up at high speed, then instantly reverse direction to come down at the same non scale speed, and instantly go back up. I don't think any human could survive the G forces. It's the result of a lot of time on simulators, and a lot of money in broken parts, plus help from electronics. More R/C here,

The blades can be flipped upside-down to fly the helicopter upside down.

Check this out. It combines rc helicopters and dslr photography:

The blades are actually quite symmetrical on most RC heli's. They actually just change the pitch from positive to negative to facilitate inverted flying.

Only the CP ones, there's a lot of FP ones out there.

I got Phoenix Ver3 and using it with a DX6i, I took the Blade SR up and flipped it into inverted. It was so easy to flip it and to hold it there, I can't believe it's going to be so easy with the real thing.

Here is my heli, a Miniature Aircraft Furion 6. A friend took this photo with his Canon 7D.
