and looking for advice on how to approach and follow up on my idea.

Back story: I shoot sports for our local HS. Basketball and football. The mom of a senior basketball player owns a local successful local studio with downtown storefront bldg.

I'd like to continue on with the kids by shooting the HS senior portraits in general. Not sure all the legwork involved with getting a 'practice' of my own up and running is something I can squeeze into my life schedule right now.

Approaching the basketball player's mom is another idea. Realizing this has to be a 'what's in it for me' proposition for the business owner, I'm asking for help from professionals to advise me and hopefully make this approach a win-win for the business owner and for me as well.

What would make you accepting of someone walking in and asking for a job or apprenticeship that would lead to a mutually beneficial relationship for her business and put money in my pocket as well?

Your advice is appreciated. Thank you.
