Im really confused about this. My sigma has hit focus from time to time but I never felt like I could rely on it. Well while at a recent shoot I was distracted and forgot to zip up my lens bag, when we started to change location my sigma fell out of the bag from about 3 1/2 feet up. The lens took a hard bound on a bench then fell on the cement ground and started to roll towards the edge of a balcony. Luckily I stopped it before it took a ten foot drop. After inspection everything was fine except for a few scuff marks on the lens hood.

Tonight I took it out to make sure it was alright. I tested the lens on various items around the house that I used in the past to test af accuracy..... Its like its a new lens, af was spot on 90% of the time!!! I don't see how a knock to the lens could improve the focus accuracy, but I dont really care. I think my 30mm is fixed.

Oh and I just want to mention that when testing the focus indoors I was using shooting at 1/125 to insure that the focus issue was not because of a slow shutter speed both times.

PS dont go throwing your sigma on the ground to try and fix it.

Maybe you can put up some pics of the lens so that other owners know where to knock the lens. ;)

Everyone who has had theirs "calibrated" by Sigma should look for marks...
