17-40L or 24-105L for 5D Mark II

it would give you very blurry background, it's all up to you, even if you have 1.8, 1.4 rarely you'll use that. 2.8 would be enough just check some photos with this lens it is the best walk-around IMO.

The Sigma 50 1.4 is a very good lens. A number of pros have made the switch to the Sigma.
