Laptop - whats You favorite brand

Nobody have mentioned Acer ?

Is that because nobody use them ? Or because they are bad?

Acer is the cream of the crop... for crap!
I'd stay FAR away!!

Acer's far more popular in Europe then on this side of the pond. We just get the cheap stuff but they're talking of trying to become a major player which means they're going to be doing a lot more business here in North America which hopefully will mean we'll get their premium products.

I still think IBM's are the top tier and after that there's Dell and Toshiba (and maybe upper end Acers) followed by the rest. HP/Compaq are near the bottom from my experience working with/on them.
