For MA, are lens/TC versions seen as the same or different?

For those of you who have, say, the 2x TC II and 2x TC III, or both mark I and mark II of a given lens, does the microadjustment system see these as the same or different? In other words, let's say you did MA for all your lenses with the 2x II and now you have the 2x III. Will it use the same MA settings or do you have to recalibrate all of them with the new TC? I'm wondering the same thing about lenses, now that mark II versions are coming out for a bunch of them. Are they seen as entirely different lenses by the MA system?

I used to use a Kenko 2x with my 300 f2.8, then I switched to Canon. The 7D was quite happy to use the MFA settings from the old TC with the new one. So, as it doesn't even distinguish between Canon and non-Canon, I strongly doubt it'll distinguish between Canon MkII and Canon MkIII.

Camera goes totally by mm and aperture. If you had 2 different 300/2.8's it will not now the difference. Add a TC and, since it changes the mm and aperture, it sees it as a new, different lens. For MA camera can only remember one lens with the same statistics.
