A lucky bee, a posing dragonfly

A very lucky shot of a bee (I trying to get it in flight, but I never thought it would come out so well) (Quebec, Ile de Bonaventure)

Both taken with the 100-400, my second favourite 'macro' lens

Nice shots.
On the first one I was waiting the bee to turn and show his face
Bee and flower are very sharp.
The second one is nice too but there is some distracting stuff in the background.

Very excellent work, very sharp and crisp, wonderful colors as well, I might make one suggestion though, There is a lot of noise visible in both shots, Have you tried "Neat Image" yet? It is a noise removing program and they have a free download version you can try, it works wonders, hope this helps.

Thanks for the kind comments. I hadn't really considered the background in the dragonfly shot... I'll have a look in my archive to see if there are any other shots where the background interferes less.
I'll try to ninja the noise away to see if it improves the pics (I've only just acquired that program).

the bee shot is tremendous... i really like the pov on the dragonfly...both are lovely and sharp and well exposed

The dragonfly shot is great, but the bee shot is excellent. It's a perfect shot, great composition, sharpness, and colors. Well done.
