I've researched the possibility of displaying flickr pics on facebook wall, newsfeed and it seems there are facebook apps to do that. My question is: does facebook still degrade the quality of the linked flickr images?

I guess I can try it to see, but

1) I dont have a flickr account yet, but it seems a pretty popular photo-sharing tool here on POTN.

2) I restrict apps on my facebook to zero, dont like them, but if the flickr app will show better image quality, then maybe...

thanks.

Anytime you upload a photo to facebook, the quality will degrade. What I do is post direct links to my zenfolio (or your flickr),that way no quality loss what-so-ever!

unfortunately FB limits the longer side of the picture to 720 pixels. so any pictures that'd be displayed on FB (uploaded or via a link) will be subject to that limitation.

use the facebook app RSS graffiti then it cross-loads them automatically. i set mine up so that anything tagged "facebook" goes on my wall.

If you presize your FB uploads to 720 pixels on the longest dimension and sharpen appropriately for web viewing at that size, you'll maintain pretty good quality of the image and FB will do minimal, if any alteration when you upload.
