Would this setup create a shadow on the background?

Let's say a family portrait shot with 3 people. I have 2 speedlites and 1 reflector. If l light up the background separately using 1 speedlite and subjects are somewhat close or not far enough from the background to avoid the main light falls out (another speedlite with an umbrella), would there be shadows on the background? And the reflector would be placed on either right or left side of the subjects for fills.
