Dude, your processing is fantastic. Well-done. I'd love a tutorial on how you get those great pics.
In Lightroom 4.3, I start off by making sure the 'horizon' is straight and, if it isn't framed the way I like, I crop it. Then I look for sensor spots or anything that needs cloning out with the Spot Removal tool; I do this early so that it doesn't slow down processing later.
Then I drag the Highlights slider down and the Whites slider up. How much depends on whether there's any highlight clipping present, but doing this is what makes them look 'lit that way' (I can't think of a better term). Then I find a black point and, depending how flat the light was when the photo was shot, I'll add a little contrast, clarity, and vibrance.
Then I take the photo into Perfect Effects 4 and, depending on what's needed, add some Tone Enhancer, Color Enhancer, possibly some sharpening and vignette, and for some photos I use the Texturizer.
So, nothing special. I just go for a look that I like. Now and again I'll use a preset in Perfect Effects but for the most part I like to 'go it alone' and create my own.
More likely the Canon S3is forum. That would have been 5 or 6 years ago. Had no idea what I was doing back then.
I like your street shots. Interesting subjects, and that processing that's not-quite-HDR with all of that texture and detail. I'd like to see more.

That was my first thought, too.
