true, we are exploring the opposite ends of the stick

I see maybe a touch of Bruce Davidsons color work influence maybe, Subway comes to mind.

Don't know if you've seen these or care but a couple of pieces about street work. What these guys talk about I see missing in a lot of street work today.

Joel Meyerowitz

Winogrand

And another

Yep, seen all of that, got Frank's books, just bought the new Winogrand masaive book from SF MOMA, lots of good writing in that. Those guys are/were artists with things to say, today a lot of people assume street stuff is a kind of tourism, sadly.

You may be right a bit, but just to an extent. His subway was an extreme NY, colourful and extreme planet full of dazzling characters, London of today is nothing like that, its more like...middle class white office girls with cupcakes :D

I do admitt to loving his work though, and he definitely was a big influence togheter with Winogrand and Moriyama to get me thinking why I need to be up close with a 35mm prime and reserve my 70-200 for commercial work.

I think the way you approach color is similar to Davidson.

When on the streets for me its my Leica MM and a 35mm lens. Thats it...Its the way I see.

hm, you could be right about that colour remark, it does seem similar. I had to go colour, I loved BW work but step by step I realised I need to work in colour.

I agree. You vision seems to have lead you in that direction. As you know mine has lead me to B&W for now. I still shoot mostly color for my professional work but all my personal work lately has been B&W because thats the way I have been seeing.

Shameless plug. Everyone is invited.
