It's exactly what I'm asking about. Another possibility was that you put it there as a compositional element. it would be a very different image without it. the contrast between the beautiful baby in a spotless pram and the reality of the street would be there, but that extra layer of graphic repetition creates a different level of connection between the two worlds, kind on negating the external appearance and therefore the difference between them. On seeing it, I thought "That piece of trash makes the whole picture work." Precious/worthless Clean/dirty New/old Cared for/neglected Soft surfaces/hard surfaces Curved contours/straight lines and angles Clear colors/dingy colors Red/green (at the two sides) By the way, I'm a ma'am, not a sir. Thanks for replying. so sorry ma'am website

More info | Aug 23, 2013 23:11 | #5655 ziemowit wrote in post #16234832 so sorry ma'am ![]() I would never change things on the street, it goes against my philosophy of photography as art. commercial work is different of course. thanks for you comments, and yes, it's all about those contrasts in a way. Agree. And its about color as your work always is. Subtle and strangely beautiful. A warm, cool color think in this images. Like your other work backgrounds monochromatic (in the real sense or the word) with gentle splashes of primary color. The red with the small piece of blue trash uper center of the frame. Also the complimentary colors with the red and the green tint on the window. And the baby is locked out see the lock on the door. These kinds of things are in all of your work. I know you don't need me to tell you this but i am just pointing it out to those that might have missed it.
