Ha! What a cool shot - made me laugh. Great composition Noah. I'm curious - and I can't imagine him refusing - did you ask in advance before taking the picture? Like the man said in Men in Black: "But I make these shades look good."

It's tough enough to get one dog to pose. Those guys are pros.

Thank you! When I walked up on them, they were all posed like this. I held up my camera, and gave him a little nod, which he returned. So I snapped away. I saw him a few times that weekend, and the pups were always wearing their shades.

Wonderful tight crop on #2 Phil and a perfect choice for b/w conversion. I feel the negative space on the right really strengthens it.

The firefighters looked exhausted but they eventually got it under control.

My camera bag and gear smelled of smoke for nearly a week. It was awful. Actually this was a bit scary for other reasons. There is a building on the right just out of view that houses a small art museum. I'm on the Board there and we were worried that the flames would reach the facility and destroy the life's work of 69 artists. Fortunately there was only minor smoke damage and we were able to get everything cleaned up pretty well.
