...a sign that it is a government bureaucracy.
Interesting architecture though.

Very interesting, maybe Art Deco from late 30's mid 40's.

There's some great stuff in the past few pages of this thread!

Phil, which countries of the world have you NOT been to? :)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Phil digs into his archives and produces his photos from the Rock!

I've been probably to about 40.....that barely scratches the surface of where I want to go.

I had a similar question from someone else from the US today, over on G+. He knew what the pork bit was, just not the bap part. It's a dry white bread roll, often dusted with flour, that sucks all of the moisture out of your mouth and usually ends up as a tasteless paste that makes you wish you hadn't let it get anywhere near you. It's a poor excuse for a proper roll, and it often threatens and coerces bacon or other pig parts into aiding and abetting its misdemeanours. Here are some photos of baps from a Google image search:

TRIGGER WARNING - BAPS!!!!

https://www.google.co.uk …_AUIBigB&biw=1104&bih=905 (external link)

Baps are eaten by ragamuffins, varlets, rogues, cads, and Eastenders. Brick Lane is not a million miles away from Walford Square.

By the way, my G+ correspondent conjectured that this stallholder was selling pulled pork. But I wasn't about to ask Jeff about his personal habits. ;-)a

So then what do louts, scouses, wastrels, scalawags and ne'er-do-wells eat?
