Start with Photoshop CS5.

You said "except ps actions"...

I still think that Photoshop alone is the most powerful retouching tool. But if you want a recommendation for additional software, I'm a big fan of the NIK collection. For certain portraits, I sometimes use Imagenomic Portraiture.

But if you took away my additional software, I still could do most, if not all, retouching with Photoshop alone... Only much much slower.

I agree ... but the thing is I am not so familiar with Photoshop.

I'm interested in this software (

Seeing some of the features, convenience and the price, I think this's a solution for replace photoshop with all complexity (IMHO).
But before I decided to buy this software, I need some opinions from people who probably have been used this software.

Don't fall for all the marketing hype. Nothing replaces experience and long hours of working at learning to use whatever retouching tool you have.

Portrait Pro - $39.99

Cheap and it works pretty good, plus you get a free demo.

Like others have said, there's no quick and easy tool to get perfect results. If you already have Photoshop, I would suggest spending the time and small amount of money on a training course / video, like this one at Lynda.com. They're very good and easy to follow (and come with example files), and you actually learn how to retouch, not just move some sliders in a window.

Something you are not clear on -- are you saying yo have Photoshop but just aren't comfortable developing your own actions and want something additional for portrait retouching, or are you saying you don't have photo editing software at all and can't afford to start with Photoshop, or ??

I have photoshop, hard for me when doing photo retouching. So I tried to find other software that is felt more easy and instant to edit my photos.
Finally, I've bought

Yeah, Photoshop is not an easy learning curve. And, there's nothing wrong with using a "smaller footprint" app as long as it meets your needs.

I haven't heard of the software in your link so can't comment on it, but if it works for you, good for you. When at some point you want more, you "have Photoshop", so it's all good!

If you have photoshop, then you should only buy PS plug-in's, IMO
