Are being shipped to the pro order customers. If anyone has one and you can post any results or comments i would appreciate it. I spoke to the customer service dept this am. They should be in regular stock in the next 4 weeks. They indicate that the Mini vagabonds will allow 2 1600's at full power for about 250 pops. Not sure what the old vagabonds did. trying to make a decision to get one or build my own unit with a car battery. 250 sounds like a low number but thats 2 units. So if you do indivividual work and group work at the same time you should get a lot more use.

Input appreciated

Same here. I have a VB mini on order - but I found that I'm passing up jobs. So I found a VBII on FM bought it - it'll be here thursday.. Whether or not it'll be for sale when the VB mini gets here remains to be seen.

PacAce

thanks for the threads. will go through these. Bobby, our assistants husband is a techie kind of guy and made a home made one (probably saw it in the senior thread). Plus there are a couple of other ways as well. The vagabond looks trick but i am concerned about how long its going to last and recycle times in the field. Either way, its a heck of alot more light than the 580's put out for shooting against the sun.

yup

She said they were getting caught up so im hopeful mid march is good. I read all the posts and it looks like anyone that had issues were non PCB products. well except for the bluff sticker:lol:.

Anyone use these outdoors with AB800's ? Wondering how much output you could get with a pair of 800's.

Thanks in advance

Mike the test data is on Alien Bees web site. For Einstein at full power every 10 sec, it says like 445 shots. AB1600 was like 510 shots at full power every 10 seconds.

So if you got two AB800s at full power each I would expect close to that number which is plenty IMHO. I would still have separate battery for each light though. Better in longer run as you have a spare also that way.

I've been hunting down a Vagabond II, should I just wait and order the mini? I'm running B800's. I'd still buy a Vagabond 2 if anybody wants to get rid of a good one.

No fire issues with the mini and there are a lot more portable and easy to use in the field because of the weight. I'm going to pick up another mini in about 6 months as well as backup batteries and just run one per light.

Mike,

I pre-ordered one and have it now. Just the size makes it worth it for me. Compared to a 20+ lb VBII, I'd easily buy a few spare batteries for the mini and be set.

^ I ordered mine 1/31 and haven't gotten any word about it shipping. I think I'm going to call on lunch and see if I can get a better estimate now that it should be shipping any day now.
