FYI, I got my grip today, just two business days after I ordered. OMG !! Its like a completely different camera. First thing my wife said after I put it on was, "Wow, you look like a professional".

nope, just took the second battery out of mine and it worked just fine. However, I can't see why you wouldn't want 2 batteries. You can buy them for $12 at www.sterlingtek.com. I've got 4 of them. They work great.

Im just about to make the plunge into slr, so im trying to figure these things out. what I was trying to get at was if it came with another battery pack so I would have 2.

it does not come with another battery pack. You will need to purchase an additional battery for it.

FWIW. mine have been perfect, no issues. Never have run out of battery with it either.

I also received my grip today. DHL said it wasn't going to get here until the 29th.... That's three for three with my Dell purchases. The main reason I wanted the grip was for the vertical shutter release. The fact that it makes my camera look cooler is just an added bonus.

Ugh well i placed the order, and confirmed and charged, only to get a notice it wont ship til Oct 12 because its backordered . Good thing my camera is out for repairs so I can suck it up i guess.
