So, currently I have a manfrotto aluminum tripod that I luckily found at Goodwill for only $10 (I really lucked out...it was our grand opening
). It is one of the older models, so its downside is the weight. And a mafrotto pan tilt head that came with it.The head is the main concern for me because the tripod is decent but the tilt head is a PAIN. I am willing to spend more on the head at the moment than the tripod..I will save longer for a tripod if necessary.
$400 is my price limit (I will go slightly over if necissary) for a new setup. The heaviest setup I have currently is a 400 5.6. I love how hand holdable the 400 is but this setup will be used for shooting from a blind so it would be nice to have it on a tripod.
So far I have narrowed down my search for a head to the Markins Q-Ball Q3 (which is currently out of stock :confused
or a Manfrotto 393. If there are other good options let me know. Where I am still pretty confused on what to get is the tripod. I really have no clue what I want besides being fairly light weight and also having it reach 6' without a center column. Getting low to the ground would also be nice.
I know nothing about QR systems so if you could point me to a thread about them that would be helpful...
Thanks,
BirdBoy
