They look good overall.

1. Lighting sucks, but nice shot.
2. Need a touch more room on the right and less room on the left.
3. Nice shot. You may want to take a little space off of the left.
4. Great shot, but crop tighter on the left and right. Empty space is usually bad space in sports, unless it's for effects, imo.
5. Good action, but you really need the face in this one.
6. The next frame may be a bit better if you caught it, but solid shot here.
7. It's a cool shot for sure, but without the ball, it isn't the perfect shot.

From what it looks like, you need to try and get down lower on the field, if possible. Not being able to see faces/ball is the biggest thing that you can have in any sport. These comments are not by a professional nor are they meant to bring you down at all. You asked for some critiques and these are mine. Overall, I'd give you a solid B+. Now get back out there and shoot!

Thank you for the help. Yea I know what you mean about getting lower. Sadly the photographers booth at USD is raised about 6ft off of field level :( .

Hi,

Good shots overall, good action and timing. Is it just my monitor or is the aspect ratio a little compressed on the last one?

I enjoy shooting baseball too, except for the &#%@* bills on their caps! It's often hard if not impossible to get low enough to see faces because the players/hitters are always looking down! And on a bright day, the shadows make it hard to get good exposure on the faces without blowing everything else out (white uni's).

Just my thoughts.

High school playoffs last year, no 'photo well' at the field, a photographer got his butt chewed by umpires for sitting and shooting .. he was even with 1st base but back by the fence.. good low vantage point but obviously a bad place to be if an overthrow.. you don't wanna be the person that causes a 'dead ball' situation
