I'd really like to get a shutter/flash release before April 1 when the wife and I fly out to Vegas. I've read reviews on here about the Yongnuo RF-602 being good and also cheap, but I've also read that they seem to be built cheaply too. While looking up reviews I ran across the Phottix Strato 2.4 GHz 4 in 1 which from what I've read is a much better built trigger, but I can't seem to find any info on whether or not it will shoot in single, multiple, bulb or continuous modes. Have any of you used the Phottix and can you fill me in on it? i realize that it's twice the price of the Yongnuo, but if it's that much better I don't mind spending for it.

Or perhaps you can recommend another brand in a similar price range. Please don't suggest Pocket Wizards because they are way out of my price range at the moment. I have to get one ordered the first week of March so timely replies would be appreciated.

In another train of thought, from what I've read neither one of these triggers transmit E-TTL info to the flash along with the other recommendations, could you perhaps tell me what I might have to buy to get that option too?

I would not say RF-602's are cheaply built. On the contrary, I think they are very solid and durable, and pretty much the gold standard for cheap, reliable triggers. The RF-603's just launched yesterday on ebay, they are just under $40 a pair and have some additional features, but are not yet battle tested.

To retain ETTL, you'd need Radio Poppers or PW Mini TT1 and Flex TT5's and they will cost you dearly.

THe Phottix does in fact retain TTL, its just the camera mount that retains it. Remotes are manual.
