I do have a good flash and i'm going to be purchasing another very shortly.

as far as crop cameras go, the T1i is a very capable camera and I am comfortable with it as my backup. It's not a "pro" body but the results I get with it have been great.

I understand photographers have gear restrictions for their own different various reasons. I'm fine with that. I was just a little caught off guard yesterday. Having said that, i'm still very happy with my camera body choice of the 50d. Thank you all for your input which has helped me alot.

I apologize, your gear list doesn't have a flash listed on there hence the no-flash comment.

As for the 50D, it's really a good camera choice, nothing to be ashamed of! I was just saying that some photographers may prefer you have either two XXD or an XD/XXD combo at minimum in order to second for them. I know some that won't even consider you unless you have at least 1 5DII and even one photographer who insisted their second shooters have 2 (and they didn't accept my 5D/7D combo). That's mainly why I stopped trying to be a second shooter. I make way more money being the primary anyway.

Well, i've made some drastic changes to my gear over the past few weeks. Last night I sold the T1i w/ kit lens for more than enough money to buy a 50d through the CLP. I also sold my 50 1.8. I've got a 50 1.4 and an 85 1.8 on order. So my current setup is now
50d
50d
17-55 2.8 IS
85 1.8
50 1.4
580exii
430exii

This setup has worked well for me although the 50 1.4 I got has a focus problem so it just stays in the bag till I get a chance to send it in.

I rented a 135L this weekend and LOVED it. I shot with that lens for slightly more shots than I shot with the 17-55. That tells me that I need a longer focal length. I think the 70-200 is out of my budget for right now so i'm seriously considering buying a 135L.

Just thought I'd say I think your wedding shots are great! I'm just starting helping a pro photographer, and I must say my 17-50 does ok but would love a 70-200.
