These were taken back in January, just before my hip replacement surgery. Since I have been unable to get out, I decided to post these. They were just some of the birds we saw in less than two hours at the park.

That's a real nice variety - a great park! :) I love that anhinga. But a nice series all around, Stan.

Very nice set Stan. Somehow I missed these back in January. I wonder if the Pintails are still around.

Thanks, Don. I haven't been out there since the day we ran into you there. I saw the pintails near shore a few minutes later. You had just passed by them. There were a couple of blue-winged teals there also. Sorry you missed them.

Thanks for your good wishes, Bret. While these were before my surgery, I'm happy to say the recovery has been going well. I use a cane still, so haven't gone birding yet. However, my wife and I are starting a trip in a couple days that will take us to Texas for birding and bluebonnets, followed by New Mexico and Arizona. I feel I can get into shape for hiking pretty quickly. The hip replacement is much easier to recover from than the knee.
