Yep. See them now and then on BN here too. Looks just like that with the protective covering. I think they are always going west.

Tell them it's new "green technology"...cleaner burn because has no engines, recycle paper windows,
travels by rail because it's cheaper..

I was talking with a guy on the Renton 737 assembly line who says they have to patch bullet holes on like 25% of the 737's that come in. I can just seem some 18yo moron now, "hey, let's shoot the airplanes on the train going by!"

it's amazing how often that happens.

had a friend flying a piston Beaver on floats in northern Manitoba that had potshots taken at him randomly on more than one occasion. came close to taking a round in the leg judging by the hole in the floorboard once too.

then there's the boys flying over in Africa... RPGs, AKs and SAMs oh my!

Many (41 years) moons ago, I had the opportunity of getting some "wheel and rudder bar" time on the Goodyear Blimp. The Captain, Nick (greek last name) told me they had the same issues with not only people on hill tops taking pot shots but even had a couple of times where they were hit by planes that had the reg numbers taped over. Who knows if he was pulling my leg or given the cartoons of the time where the balloons went all over the sky, maybe they shot it to see if the same happened.

I've got a good friend who was a Blimp pilot as well who told me the same stories. Crazy stuff.
