We visited Ewing, Indiana today and shot some Sandhill Cranes. I bet there are 10,000+ in the area!

Caught the Eastern Osprey in flight today ( after a 4 hour wait for her to move off her perch after devouring a large fish), and with a perfect blue sky background...very happy.

A few miles away at the Lower Klamath NWR, visibility was almost zero inside a thick fog bank. Over the hill at the Tulelake NWR, I thought it would be the same when all of a sudden we popped out, and it was clear (althogh still quite cold at 25f)!

Very nice. I'm so disappointed that my Bosque trip was cancelled due to 10 inches of snow. There's so much to shoot there as you know.

Plan your return.
If I'm ever back that way I'm headed back to Chiricahua Nat.Mon. for a week minimum. 8 species of owl possible there, 5 living in that area year around.
Of course the odds of finding any are slim.......
