Love the detail in this.
The light and the photo direction allows the wing structure to show beautifully. (if that's the right term)

shalu wrote in post #18812356 (external link)

Beautiful. A very clear, clean image. Shows the detail off very well.
Love the way its streaking across the water.

Black crowned night heron. Image taken 2018. Processed February 16, 2019-02-13.

Very nice. Love the light. Shows the bird off very well.
Relatively short body for its wings. Well looks it to my uneducated eye. :p

Can you guys/gals slow down this thread for the elderly! I can't keep up!
This guy was posted in the portrait thread on a cactus. He left the cactus for a shot posted earlier looking straight at
me, then here something caught interest on the ground. It was like oblivious to my presence

Fantastic pose. Beautifully photographed.

Really fantastic crow shot again, Mike!

Haven't checked on the kites for a while, they are still around.

Don't worry Shalu I didn't undo my Like :p

A really beautiful bird. Lovely.

Both these encapsulate the beauty of these birds of prey and their flight variances along with their feathers, patterns etc.
As much as I love the stills, these in-flight ones are my preference.

Wow Robert...this is such a neat shot. The band on his right leg seems so narrow. I've never seen a band quite like that before.

Thank you Shalu. Your kite shot here is superb. I love the position of the bird (wings up and feet down), and the overall composition is quite nice.

Thanks a bunch Pag. I'm always fighting with exposure when shooting crows. I throw so many shots away, because it's just not correctly exposed, to where I can clearly see the eye(s), and some body detail.

Wonderful capture Mike. Love the pose and the sky.

Thank you Robert. Crows are kind of my nemesis, because so many of my photographic attempts end up in the cyber garbage can. Luckily, I live in an area where crows are abundant year around, and I literally shoot them everyday with my camera. It's great practice, and every so often I get it right.

Thank you, Robert! You really should visit California. The in-flight food transfer between parents should start in a few weeks, followed by food transfer between parent and juveniles. Always lots of fun to shoot that action!
