I know it's the lightest 600 mm lens on the market (6.7 lbs.), but it's still a lot of lens to lug around. LD, or Mike

Yes, I only hand hold it right now, since I lost my tripod quite a while ago. I took the tripod somewhere, and forgot about it in the field. Weeks later, I realized I couldn't find my tripod, don't even know where/when I lost it Image hosted by forum (993809) © shalu [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Thank God for my cell phone. I put reminders and appointments on it all the time. I call it my Alzheimer's preventer. LD, or Mike

Thank God for my cell phone. I put reminders and appointments on it all the time. I call it my Alzheimer's preventer. Your lens does look like a bit of a monster. I realize that it's lighter than all the other 600's on the market, but even you have to lean back a tiny bit when shooting with it. I hate to keep repeating myself, but the shots you've posted so far with this bad boy, are simply incredible. I know you're enjoying the heck out it. ![]() Thank you, Mike! For stationary shots, I do intend to use a monopod in the future. It will allow slower shutter speeds in the shade. Funny my friends also commented that I had to bend my back backwards using this gear chuckmiller wrote in post #18910324 From looking at the settings it's clear that you had plenty of light but regardless that's impressive for 1200mm! Thank you, Chuck! yes, the sun was pretty strong in this shot, but I had no problem tracking the action sequence all the way into the shade under the tree canopy like this later frame: Image hosted by forum (993862) © shalu [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW.
