That does it Shalu, you have cost me 100 bucks! I just ordered the dot sight

Me too... Been playing with it the last couple days.

I really need to get somewhere with more predictable & repeat flight activity. Maybe this weekend.

Phil, I know you use Nikon. I have a friend with Nikon D850/500 and 500PF, he likes the Dot Sight too

I can see how the significantly broader view will aid in reduced focus acquisition time, vs the pinhole view thru the VF/lens. Once I get comfortable with it, I'll probably add focus distance preset to one of the programmable lens buttons since the dot calibration is somewhat distance specific. That way I can instantly get the focus distance back to the calibrated area when going from subject to subject.

Thanks for the tip! :)

Very cool shot, Phil. I really like the position of the bird's wings. They makes for a different yet appealing image.

Shalu...Having an APS-C camera body is like getting a free built in TC that doesn't rob me of an f/stop, plus it doesn't hurt my image quality. So it's almost like I'm stacking TC's to get 1120mm of magnification.:-P:-D

If I were a young guy like you (I'm assuming you're young :-)), I'd be shooting exactly what you are shooting (without a doubt).

Thank you Phil. I don't use the 500 that much anymore because it keep getting heavier every year. But I almost always run a 1.4 TC with it whenever I do. That plus the 1.6 crop factor of my 7Dii gives me the equivalency of 1120mm.

My buddy and I were trying to get some shot of ducks and shore birds, when I noticed this hummer not too far off. Since I do know how to speak a little hummingbird, I asked her to hold still for just a second, and she did. So, I got off a couple of shots that I was happy with. Anyways, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.:-P :p:lol:

That's an amazing capture, Shalu. It sorta looks like he's just flying along, with his head turned around to see what things look like upside down. :p:lol:
