That is a great series, Robert. The red-tailed hawk is definitely telling you off.

Thanks Dennis. She was coming in to land in a pond full of ducks. I think she was concentrating as to where to put down.

Mike the RTH flew off the perch twice, each time flying straight at me (perfect BIF tracking practice) and returned to the perch. You'd think I was too close
by his attitude but I promise I was 40-50 yards away. Well chimped and saw I had a keeper so let him (actually I think it was a her) be.

Nice shot, Mike! I am surprised to see that a common mallard is banded.

This is a bit of optical illusion. I gave it a huge crop

Amazing Sha!

Thank you, Robert!

Great RTH series, Robert! I have not seen a RTH with so much white on the belly before. At first glance, I thought it was a different kind of hawk.

Sha when we were in Arizona last winter we saw the RTHs there were very dark chested. Variations make the world go round :)

Thank you Shalu. Wild mallards are one of the most commonly banded of all the ducks. It's probably because of their popularity among hunters.
