After an unsuccessful dive, this guy needs to shed some weight so he can go back for another try. (He caught a fish on this 3rd attempt, but too far out to capture). That is the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge in the background for those familiar with the Bay Area.This is the first Osprey I have seen back from wintering to the south. Hopefully his mate will show up soon.
