I like taking their pictures, but really don't know much about birds. Everyone around here keeps calling these "seagulls", but we're over 1000 miles from the sea... But I'm not the expert! :-) In the background are the Colorado Rocky Mountains!

Looks like a Herring Gull, they are common as flies around here. But I would assume that over the years they keep moving inland anywhere they can find scraps and over the years made it to your area
