If you're liberal with your definition of local, yes Summer's also a good time to find Brown Pelicans along there, as well. Occasional whale watching can be done on a few migrating packs that'll come up the river mouth to feed for a bit, as well. Being up North there, though, you can also get regularly good opportunities with these guys just across the border, in Delta, BC. A ton of my Eagle shots are from up there. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife
