These are great shots... My wife LOVES hummingbirds. Mind me asking what plant that is? Gotta make the wife happy and it may give me some opportunities for some shots myself.:-D

The plant is called Agastache Red Fortune:

http://www.perennials.com …gastache-red-fortune.html (external link)

Your wife will love this perennial because, 1) it's beautiful, 2) hummingbirds are irresistibly drawn to the plant; 3) it's very sturdy and bloom for a long time; and 4) it's quite inexpensive.

Another beautiful perennial to get for all the same reasons is Crocosmia Diablo:

https://www.gardenia.net …varieties-for-your-garden (external link)

My yard hummers love these two perennials just about equally.

One thing, though: you'd need to grab them as soon as you see them in stores; they'll be out of stock the same day they come in. I only got one Agastache Red Fortune and two Crocosmias because I didn't know how hummers would like them. Knowing what I know now, I plan on getting several more of these come next spring.

I am a couple thousand posts behind, sorry for late comment.
I really like this shot, I find Black Chinned to be the most skiddish of the hummingbirds I get to photograph. You nailed it, light, focus sharpness and just enough gorget color to show how beautiful they are.

It heard my camera shutter sound. One more reason for me to get the R5 with its electronic shutter....
