The Hawk was actually trying to hunt their babies hiding at the edge of that pond.
The Parents successfully deterred the attack.

I meant has the successful defence been photographed? I have seen duckling being predated on TV - but in London's Hyde Park (see here https://kensingtongard​ensandhydeparkbirds.bl​ogspot.com/ (external link)) the ducks and geese are quite rubbish parents, if the ducklings are too slow then they get eaten.
